Anthropologie Top & Black Skinnies

DFT- Lipstick Picks - 13 I’ve been asked before where I would shop if I had an endless budget for my wardrobe. The store that always flashes to mind is Anthropologie. They have such a gorgeous collection of printed dresses, embellished blouses, midi skirts and fancy footwear (not to mention their home décor!), I don’t think I would ever get tired of shopping there. Spending $328 on a dress isn’t really where I’m at right now in life, just being honest, so I rarely walk out with a shopping bag after a lap around the store.
The one area where I really shine though, is finding a deal! I recently (like last week!) found some amazing pieces on the Anthropologie website, including this crochet-neckline striped/floral tee. Yes, there’s a lot going on, but in a black & white palette, it totally works. Keeping it simple with black skinnies and ankle-strap flats, this is the perfect casual chic look I’ve been gravitating towards. Read on for the rest of the outfit and my picks from the sale!

3 Ways to Wear a Maxi Dress in Winter

Most of us have maxi dresses in our wardrobe that when the cooler weather starts rolling around, they get pushed to the back of the closet or folded in to a box or bag and subjected to a lonely life in the garage until spring comes. I’ve come up with 3 ways to wear a maxi dress in winter so you can keep your favorites in rotation all year long!

I love this look for a date night when you want to look cute but still feel bundled up. Adding a satin ribbon over the cardigan allows for my waist to not be lost under the fabric.

Lyon & Post Try On Round 2

I’ve just got in another shipment from Lyon & Post, and this time I decided to show you all how I would pair the items I received with things already in my closet. After all, their motto is #farewellfittingrooms!

First up is this leopard print sweater from Equipment. I decided to pair it with a faux leather skirt from Forever 21 and cut-out heels from Ivanka Trump. It’s fun, a touch edgy, and even comfortable! Equipment Sloane Crew Sweater, $298.

Next, this fun star-covered sweater from Amour Vert. I really did dig the celestial print sweater. It seemed pretty well-made, was very warm and fit well. However, I own a sweater that is SO similar, I couldn’t justify keeping it. I threw on a sleeveless collared white blouse, black jeans and sleek boots, along with some vintage rhinestone jewelry. Amour Vert Celeste Sweater, $195.

This sweater from Vince was soooo tricky to wear! I paired it with a plaid button-down, grey skinnies and ankle booties. I liked the way it looked fresh out of the box, but not how it felt. It was akin to knit chainmail, like a sweater of armor. Not soft, not cozy… And it had an almost garish sheen in the sun, which is really saying something coming from me, someone who loves sparkle! It also showed every lump and bump of my layers and made my arms look huge. Pass! Vince Metallic Open Crew Neck Sweater, $275.

Last but not least, this drapey wool coat from Vince. I understand that wool has it’s own quirks, but this contraption is ITCHY. In all honesty, I could barely wear it long enough to take these pictures. The price point didn’t help, and I also thought at first sight that it was black (hence what I paired it with, grey skinnies and leopard booties). It is actually a deep navy. Oh well, back it goes. I’m sad to say that this will be my last shipment for now. I’ve come to realize that the price points are too high and I don’t find the prices match the quality of a lot of the items. Not really the fault of L&P, but some of the pieces compare to some I already have which I paid a lot less for. If you have money to blow on a $300 sweater, by all means, go for it. I just didn’t find enough on the site in my desired price range to warrant continuing the service.
