Hello, loves!
I know I’m not the first one to say it, but I can’t believe it’s June already! Granted, it’s still raining here multiple times a week, but I am starting to get used to the spastic weather. Always dress in layers is the general rule of thumb!
Today, I’m reviewing Luxury Scent Box, a subscription service for fragrances. Y’all know I live for subscription boxes… Likely because I love the feeling of getting “presents” in the mail, but also because it allows me to always try new things. I’ve never used a service like this before, so I was excited to try it out.
A couple facts first about the brand. They’re based out of Orange County, CA. You can create a profile and have a certified fragrance specialist help you select your fragrances. Or you can do what I did and just pick the ones that sound interesting or pretty! They send out your fragrance in a reusable spray bottle and replace it monthly or quarterly, depending on your plan. Memberships are annual ($198) or month to month ($15-$18/month). With annual, you get a month free. No shipping charges and no tax. With each tube of fragrance, you’ll get about 30 days use. You can plan out which scents you get for the rest of the year if you like.
Now for the good stuff! So navigating their site is pretty easy. You can scroll through all available fragrances, or narrow down by brand or specific notes that you like. I’m a big fan of Bergamot, Tuberose, and Oud, but honestly jump around a lot too. I immediately gravitated towards the Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, something I’d tried multiple times in my teen years, but not at all since. Such a classic, as the name would suggest! Next, I wanted a couple more unique scents that I’d never tried. I loved that they carry some of my favorite brands like Lollia and ToykoMilk. I decided on the Chloe Roses de Chloe and Flora Gorgeous Gardenia from Gucci. I guess I was on a designer scent kick!
Note you will only receive one fragrance at a time, but for testing purposes, I received all three of my selections. I must say that I’m really impressed at the quality of the spray bottles. Each scent was in a different colored tube (black satin, black and metallic gold, black and metallic pink). It took me longer than I’d care to admit that you twist the top away from the bottom to get the spray nozzle to appear on top. I’m blonde, what can I say?! At first I thought I wouldn’t be able to tell which fragrance is which, but the tubes easily pull out and are labeled.
Why I like this service… I LOVE testing out perfumes to find new favorites, and also to revisit past obsessions. I can not, however, afford to spend $130+ on a new bottle every time I feel like it. I adore that these are travel-friendly, the packaging is super sleek and low profile, and super easy to just grab and go, unlike some of my fragrances.. I’m looking at YOU, Versace Bright Crystal ?
So, is it worth it? Yes, I believe so. I think you’d end up spending less with this service and get to try new, exciting fragrances without having to spend money on large bottles or worrying about not using it all before the scent turns. My only critique is that I wish they had a 3 or 6 month shipping plan. That way you could have a couple different scents to rotate, and could cut down that carbon footprint just a bit from less shipping so frequently.
Tell me in the comments.. What is your favorite subscription service? Have you ever tried one for fragrance?

Believe it or not, I have never actually used a subscription service! This sounds awesome though! I only have two perfumes and I’d love to try new ones!

Bettina
That’s so interesting to me! I’m obsessed with them ? Probably to my detriment, because I have a beauty cabinet overflowing with product. Sometimes I find those holy grail products though that I might never have found anyway! Yeah, this is a good way to try the product for a while and see how it reacts on your skin. The Gucci one is my fave so far!!
ohhh i’ve never heard of luxury scent box actually. my go-to has been scentbird – they have been wonderful! love trying out new perfumes and changing things up every so often 🙂
I’ve heard of Scentbird, but haven’t tried them! Yes, I’m the same, I like to mix it up depending on season and mood 😀
I love a good subscription box and hadn’t heard of this one! Thanks for sharing girl!
For sure, I’m glad that you enjoyed the post! 😀
I’ve heard about this and being super curious. I may actually give it a try.

That’s awesome, Nailil! If you do, I’d love to hear your feedback as well 😀
I have not heard of this service! It sounds really neat.
I think so! I’ve been enjoying it, and the little tubes are so handy!
This is a great idea! I’ve never heard of them before. I too don’t want to spend tons of money on fragrance, plus I seem to never finish the bottle!
Yes, I must admit, I rarely if ever finish a bottle before it turns! Thanks for checking it out!
Ohh this sounds so lovely! I’ve never tried a scent box before!
This was my first time as well! I’m very much enjoying my scents 😀
This service sounds totally worth it! Seems like a great way to try out some new scents before committing to the full-size bottle… and also getting those faves in a travel-friendly packaging. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, I think the travel-friendly aspect is one of my faves! I love taking my fragrance with me and have had rollerballs leak. These ones don’t!
I have never tried this before because I am SO PICKY with scents and so many of them give me migraines – UGH. This sounds perfect for any one who loves perfume!
Yes, definitely! I love trying new scents and am also super picky!
It’s been such a long time since I’ve tried a new fragrance, but this box sounds like a great way to test out new scents without spending insane amounts on a full-size bottle!
Yeah, when I see $130 for a full size bottle I kind of take a step back, but it’s lovely to try it out and make sure the price would be worth it for the big guy.
A subscription box for fragrances? Unheard of! Thanks for sharing girl! This could save me a trip or three to Sephora on a monthly basis. I have to try this out. Btw, that Gorgeous Gardenia from Gucci is to die for, great choice.
Yeah, I’m really enjoying the service! The sprays are so convenient to throw in my purse, and I haven’t had any issues with leaking or anything. The Gucci scent is one of my faves 😀
I have several makeup subscriptions including Boxycharm, but I have not tried a frangance subscription. I find it amazing! I like that the bottles are reusable. I’m a firm believer of being ecofriendly. I also like that they last aprox 30 days of use. That’s definitely a must!

i’ve tried a similar scent box but they just couldn’t really appease my very picky nose, hah! this one sounds worth a try!
Haha, I feel you! Love their selection here, and how convenient it is to try new scents. Let me know if you try it!
I’ve never heard of this subscription box (they have boxes for everything lately!) but it sounds interesting! I’m not really big on fragrances but this post made me feel like I should be. I tend to stick with the one perfume I know and love because I have such a sensitive nose but this box may help me find other options!
Definitely, Deborah! I’m sensitive to most scents as well, so I love being able to test them out. And then if you don’t care for them, they make cute gifts as welL!
I hadn’t heard of this service before, but this is genuis!! I hate committing to a huge bottle of perfume bc I always get tired of it….and hellooooo it gets expensive!
Totally agree! I’ve bought perfume after sniffing it on my arm for 3 minutes, and later it smelled awful! Thanks for reading, honey.
