Last Christmas, I had the honor of being invited by my boyfriend’s lovely family to spend 4 nights and 5 days exploring the attractions and sights of Orlando, FL. Putting aside that two full days are spent traveling to get out there and back, we had a quite lovely, albeit hectic, time.Yes, this post is coming entirely too late but I had to share the bit of magic that I took home with me.
The handsome boyfriend and I stopping to enjoy
a bite to eat at Disney World’s Moroccan-themed
restaurant,Tangierine Cafe.
Tank from Cotton On, similar here;
Winged Glory Necklace by Lulu Frost for J.Crew.
Our first day was spent settling in to our comfy digs, and sleep. So much sleep.
Bright and early, we headed to Epcot. Let me first say that I was severely unprepared for how much walking was to be done in Florida. Between my Chelsea boots and my Keds, it was the lesser of two evils near the end.
I was very impressed by the World Showcase and the attention to detail put in to every aspect of each section. From the food, to the gift shops, to the attractions… You really do get the feeling that you’ve been transported to another part of the world. If you’re ever in the neighborhood (wink, wink), be sure to check out the food at the quick service restaurants in Morocco and France. They were definitely the standouts when it comes to dining options on the fly.
The lovely Spaceship Earth sphere hit by the lowering sun.
The epic fireworks show.. So difficult to photograph but I stopped
trying so I could sit back and enjoy the scene.
The first night at Disney, which happened to be Christmas Eve, we attempted to find dining for a party of 8. Without reservations. No such luck. After contemplating a slew of options, we decided on Chinese buffet, and I couldn’t have been happier. My boyfriend and I had been doing the Paleo diet for about 3 months at this time and it was a sinfully awesome departure. The next few days were kind of a blur, involving a trip to some factory outlets and a very successful haul from J. Crew Factory (!!), several luxurious meals, a room change, the Hoop-De-Do Musical Review, and lots of time spent with my boyfriend’s amazing family. I’m sad that we didn’t get a group shot of the whole family (including boyfriend’s dad, mom, brother, sister and sister’s boyfriend), but I will hopefully be heading out to Ohio again soon to visit them.
